The less said about the first game the better. Good atmosphere as always for an away game ("we fill your stadium for you, we fill your stadium for you" ; "you're winning and you still don't sing" ; with 3 mins to go and 3-0 down "we're gonna win 4-3, we"re gonna win 4-3")
Couple of pints in the Holiday Inn bar which had a lot of football fans including quite a few hammers. Then short walk to the ground where we met up with Tricky (Martin) who took Dave's unused ticket.
We didn't deserve to get anything out of the game...our midfield was dreadful especially Diop and Nolan. Tomkins and Faye can hold their heads up but the rest won't want to have their performance analysed too closely.
Back to the hotel where we had a nice feed and lamented how noisy the bar would have been if West Han had won.
Next day we drove to West Ham for the kids Christmas party. Had managed to wangle Ben an invite thanks to the friendly Laura Tucker looking after the Aussie visitors.
Sitting here blogging this in the West Ham bar waiting for Ben to come out. Don't know what they're doing in there but there's lots of loud music and stomping around. Several players are meant to be be in there but knowing Ben the only way we will know who is to decipher the signatures of his pennant that he took in to get signed.
Up to Nantwich tomorrow.
